Structured support for children
who learn

Parent-first communication

When school isn't
working — and you're
running out of options.

Most parents who come to Horizon aren't looking for extra tuition. They've watched their child disengage, struggle, or shut down in environments that weren't designed for them. They've had meetings, reports, and plans that haven't translated into real progress.

You know your child better than any system does. What they need is a practitioner who starts from that premise — and builds support around the child, not around the curriculum.

Horizon is not tutoring. It is structured, needs-led learning support — built around how your child actually learns, not how the system expects them to.

Specialist support. Clearly defined.

Horizon is not a tutoring marketplace. It is a specialist matching and coordination service with a clear process and high standards.

Needs-led matching

Every match is built on a detailed child profile — communication style, regulation needs, learning profile, and provision history. Not just subject and postcode.

EHCP-aligned structure

Practitioners familiar with EHCP outcomes, Section F provision, and annual review processes. Support that works with your child's plan, not around it.

Specialist practitioners only

Every Horizon practitioner holds a relevant specialist qualification. No generalists, no short-course credentialing. Two clear entry routes with a qualification floor.

Not therapy

Horizon practitioners are not therapists and do not provide clinical interventions. We are learning support specialists. We work alongside clinical teams, not instead of them.

Managed programme

Six-session blocks with session reports, a named coordinator, and transparent cancellation terms. Structure and accountability from the start.

No EHCP required

We support children with additional needs broadly. A formal diagnosis or EHCP is not a prerequisite. We work from the child's profile, wherever they are in the system.

Four steps from enquiry
to matched support

01

Readiness consultation

A free 30-minute call to understand your child's needs, current provision, and what you're hoping support will achieve.

02

Profile & matching

We build a detailed child profile and identify the right practitioner type before any match is made.

03

Introductory session

Your matched specialist meets your child. If it isn't the right fit, we rematch. No charge if no match is found.

04

Ongoing programme

Six-session blocks, regular progress updates, and a named Horizon coordinator throughout.

Built by a parent.
Designed for the
children the system
overlooks.

Horizon was founded by a parent who has navigated EHCP annual reviews, tribunal proceedings, and provision gaps firsthand. That experience shapes every part of how this service works.

Our story
  • Named coordinator for every family — not an anonymous inbox
  • Practitioners vetted on SEND-specific criteria, not general teaching quality
  • Refundable registration if no suitable match is found
  • Support for children with EHCPs, out-of-school children, and those with overlapping complex needs
  • Regulation-first approach available for children who need it before academic work begins
  • Clear, written terms — cancellation policy, session structure, and responsibilities
  • Works alongside clinical teams, other provision, and school placements
  • No pressure to continue — structured exit at end of each block

What parents say

"

We'd tried two tutoring agencies before Horizon. Neither understood that our son needs to feel safe before he can even begin to engage. The specialist they matched us with grasped that immediately — no explanation needed.

My daughter had been out of school for over a year. Horizon didn't immediately ask whether she had a formal diagnosis. They focused on what she actually needed and found someone who could work with her as she is.

The consultation was a proper conversation. They already understood the EHCP process, the annual review cycle, what Section F should look like. I didn't have to educate them. That alone made them different.
